Even if the composition should not be modified for the pink ladies to keep their authenticity, the proportions are adjusted for a better balance.

Note that a relatively different recipe had been published three years earlier in 1910 in a book entitled "101 drinks and how to mix them", in this book the Pink Lady was composed of gin, egg white, lemon juice , orange juice, sugar and grenadine.
