History

An indisputable aperitif, the Negroni cocktail has seen its recipe evolve over time. Long made with 1/3 gin, 1/3 vermouth and 1/3 bitters, it is increasingly made with more gin for a better balance.

Its origin is not really certain but the cocktail was born in the 1900s thanks to Count Camillo Negroni, an aristocrat from Florence whose favorite cocktail was the Americano. A little tired, the count would have asked his usual bartender Fosco Scarelli to replace the sparkling water with gin. The famous Negroni cocktail was born, it has now become a great classic aperitif.
