About
The White Lion is often associated with 18th-century mixology traditions, a time when rum was at the heart of drinking culture in America and the Caribbean. The cocktail is said to have originated in the taverns of Boston, Charleston, and Philadelphia, where merchants and sailors gathered to enjoy exotic concoctions influenced by the tropical drinks of the islands.
This recipe is the final version of the White Lion published by Jerry Thomas in 1887 in the 3rd edition of the same book, unlike the original recipe the cocktail is finally served without crushed ice, in a cocktail glass and without red fruits as decoration.
