The San Francisco Dungeon organized a very original event for 3 days: the “rat bar”!
The San Francisco Dungeon is a tourist attraction located in the Fisherman Wharf's district of San Francisco, the establishment reproduces historical events there. From June 13 to 15, 2019, the San Francisco Dungeon offered its tourists the “rat bar”, an event which attracted a lot of attention from the local press.
$50 to enjoy the bar
It was for the price of $50 that the Dungeon San Francisco first offered a 60-minute program devoted to the "twisted and dark side of San Francisco", after which the tourists would have had 30 minutes to handle domesticated rats and enjoy a drink at the “rat bar”.
The bar offered rat-related cocktails, such as the "Ama-RAT-o Sour", a cocktail taken from the famous Amaretto Sour. Rat tails were made from beets to decorate cocktails.
It was the Ratical Rodent Rescue association, specializing in finding housing for small animals and rodents, which provided the rats for the event. The rats present were also up for adoption!
Rats are animals that are as endearing as they are adorable, although it is advisable to buy from a breeder and especially not from a pet store like any other animal!
