About

The Blue Blazer’s history dates back to the 1850s, when Jerry Thomas was a bartender in San Francisco. Always on the lookout for innovation, he developed a bold recipe that involved mixing Scotch whiskey, hot water, sugar and lemon, all set alight and poured from one vessel to another in a ballet of blue flames. This spectacular and risky technique not only impressed customers, but also warmed and aerated the mixture, creating a smoother, more harmonious drink.
