Screwdriver (orange vodka): a cocktail so called because it is the tool thanks to which the cocktail would have been mixed!

Recipe

For 1 person
5 cl vodka
10 cl squeezed orange juice

How to make

Technique: straight to the glass / Glass: highball / Type: long drink (15cl) / Time: 2 mn
  1. Fill a glass with ice.

  2. Pour the vodka then the orange juice.

  3. Stir with a mixing spoon.

History

The Screwdriver cocktail is very popular and known to everyone, but more under the name "orange vodka". The simplicity of this cocktail makes the origin of its history difficult to define, the screwdriver would date from before the 1950s. This cocktail would have been so called because it is using their screwdriver that the workers of an oil rig mixed the ingredients of the cocktail.

To best enjoy this screwdriver cocktail like all the others, you must respect the dosage indicated in the recipe or at worst do not exceed 8cl of orange juice for 4cl of vodka!
