History

The Jolly Roger cocktail was created by Robert Hess, current specialist in mixology, co-founder of the "Museum of the American Cocktail" and author of the book " The Essential Bartender's Guide: How to Make Truly Great Cocktails".

The Jolly Roger gives pride of place to falernum, an ingredient of yesteryear present in tiki cocktails, from Don the Beachcomber or Trader Vic. Falernum goes particularly well with rum-based drinks.

Jolly Roger is the name of the famous black pirate flag on which is a skull and two crossbones.
