Recipe

For 1 person
4 cl marasquin
1 egg yolk
3 cl vanilla cordial (liqueur de vanille)
2 cl brandy (Cognac...)

How to make

👉 straight to the glass / 🥃 martini, nick&nora / 🍹 long drink (12cl) / ⏱️ 5 mn
  1. Pour the maraschino into a glass.

  2. Spoon the whole egg yolk into the glass.

  3. Pour the vanilla liqueur along a spoon to layer it on top of the maraschino (see How to make layered cocktails?).

  4. Insert the brandy in the same way to layer it on top.

History

The Pousse l'Amour cocktail was published in 1862 in "Bartenders guide: How to mix drinks" by Jerry Thomas, who indicates that it is a French cocktail, a lot of dexterity is required to make this recipe.
