History
The Mêlé Cassis is a cocktail composed of crème de cassis and brandy in equal parts, it is consumed as a digestif and at room temperature. It is an extremely simple cocktail to make, and it is a real treat.
The Mêlés Cassis date back to at least the 2nd half of the 19th century when they were very popular in France, the American bartender William Boothby was the first to publish the recipe in a cocktail book in 1900, in the 2nd edition of his book Cocktail Boothby's American Bar-Tender.
