Drinking alcohol makes you feel more beautiful

Here is some rather unusual information, would drinking alcohol make you feel more beautiful? The Grenoble psychology laboratory received an "Ig Nobel" (pronounced ignoble in English) at Harvard University on Thursday, September 12, 2013, an award for research that "makes you laugh and then think."

To achieve this link between alcohol and seduction, a survey was first carried out in a bar in Grenoble where 19 consumers rated on a scale of 1 to 7 the level at which they found themselves attractive. Their blood alcohol levels were then measured and it was at this point that it was discovered that the more a user drank, the more attractive they felt.

Later 94 people were recruited through an advertisement published in a daily newspaper to test an alcoholic drink. Half of the people were served an alcoholic cocktail, while the other half drank a non-alcoholic drink without knowing that there was no alcohol in it. A surprising conclusion: people who believed they had drunk alcohol also found themselves significantly more attractive.
