History
The Milano Torino cocktail is a short drink made of equal parts Campari and vermouth rosso, it was created in the 1860s at the Caffé Camparino in Milan by Gaspare Campari, the inventor of Campari himself.
The Milano Torino takes its name from the cities where its ingredients come from, the Campari from Milan and the red martini from Turin.
The Milano Torino gave birth to two other cocktails: the Americano (which includes sparkling water in addition) and Negroni (which includes gin in addition).
