History

The Gin Tonic cocktail dates back to around 1750 and began to be consumed by officers of the Anglo-Saxon navy. At that time, malaria and scurvy were ravaging, the officers would have decided to add tonic and lemon to the gin for their virtues. The mix was magical, the quinine tonic helped fight malaria, the lemon helped fight scurvy, while the alcohol preserved vitamin C.

Back on their land, the English kept their habits of consuming gin and tonic, adding sugar and sparkling water to soften the mixture, the Gin Fizz cocktail was then born.
