About
Although the exact origins of the Cornell Cocktail remain somewhat unclear, it is generally accepted that it was created in the 1920s, a time when American bars and private clubs were flourishing and mixologists were constantly looking to invent new and elegant drinks. The cocktail is said to have been created by a bartender or a group of students at Cornell University, in honor of the school itself, or perhaps for a special occasion related to the institution.
