History

The Mimosa cocktail (Orange champagne) is said to have been created around 1925 by a bartender at the Ritz in Paris. This cocktail consists of 2 equal parts of Champagne and fresh orange juice.

Mimosa is often attributed to Frank Meier, but in his 1933 book "The Artistry of Mixing Drinks" he published the recipe without signing it.

The Buck's Fizz cocktail recipe is the same as the Mimosa except that the ingredients are not in equal parts.
