History
The Brandy Alexander cocktail is a variation of the Alexander where brandy replaces the original gin, and brown crème de cacao replaces the white crème de cacao.
The Brandy Alexander, so called to avoid confusion with the original Alexander, was created by Harry McElhone in the 1920s while working at Ciro's Club in London. This brandy version has become a classic.
