For 1 person
5 cl rum
10 cl hot water
1 piece of butter (1 tsp)
Grated nutmeg
How to make
Technique: straight to the glass / Glass: toddy / Type: long drink (15cl) / Time: 5 mn

Pour the rum, grated nutmeg and a piece of butter directly into the glass.

The Hot Buttered Rum is a hot cocktail whose recipe was first published in 1862 in "Bar-tenders Guide: How to mix drinks" by Jerry Thomas under the name Hot Rum.
