History
The Port wine Sangaree cocktail is part of the "sangaree" family, it was first published in 1862 in "Bartender's guide: How to mix drinks" by Jerry Thomas. Although sangarees sometimes translate to sangrias, these two types of cocktails are different. Sangarees date from the 1770s while sangrias date from the 1960s, and their compositions are totally different.
