History

The Dubonnet cocktail, also called "Zaza" is said to be one of Queen Elizabeth 2's favorite cocktails, it first appeared in the 1900s. The cocktail is made up of equal doses of gin and Dubonnet, famous French aperitif created in 1846 from the "ABV" family (wine-based aperitif) composed of mistelles and with a subtle taste of plants and spices.

Originally undecorated, the Dubonnet cocktail is increasingly served with a squeeze of lemon.
