Albemarle Fizz cocktail: a refreshing recipe from the fizz family.
Recipe
For 1 person
5 cl gin
2 cl lemon juice
2 cl raspberry syrup
6 cl sparkling water
How to make
Technique: shaker / Glass: highball / Type: long drink (15cl) / Time: 4 mn

Shake the gin, lemon juice and raspberry syrup with a few ice cubes.

Strain into a glass.

Complete with sparkling water.
History
The Albemarle Fizz cocktail appeared in Harry Craddock's famous "Savoy Cocktail Book" which first appeared in 1930.
The Albemarle Fizz recipe has evolved slightly over time, here is the original recipe:
- Mix the juice of half a lemon, half a teaspoon of powdered sugar and a small glass of gin in a shaker.
- Pour the mixture into a glass.
- Fill up with sparkling water.
- Add a teaspoon of raspberry syrup.
"Albemarle" is the old name of North Carolina (USA), and also the name of a city in the same state.
