History
The Milk Punch is a long drink composed of brandy, rum, sugar, milk and grated nutmeg, it was already published in 1827 in "Oxford Night Caps", the very first book of cocktails written by residents of the university from Oxford, but recipes can already be found in other books dating from the 18th century. The first Milk Punches could even date back to the 17th century.
Milk Punch can also be drunk hot, in which case it is prepared directly in a toddy glass and is called "Hot Milk Punch".
The Milk Punch is the main cocktail of the family of cocktails of the same name, the "milk punches", there are some variations such as the English milk Punch, the Manhattan milk Punch or the Egg milk Punch.
