Pour the cider into a beer glass.

Gently pour the beer along a spoon so that it layers above (see the video below).
About
The Snakebite cocktail is usually made with "stout" beer, which is a top-fermented beer, hence its pronounced flavor and alcohol content.
Characterized among other things by its dark color, stout beer is brewed with roasted barley. The most famous stout is Guinness.
Snakebites tend to be made with stout in America, and lager in Britain.
